Rapid Repro is Hackworth Reprographic's solution for electronic ordering of digital printing using KIP America engineering printers. Rapid Repro is a client based print order generation and submission tool that gives you, the client, the ability to create print jobs and submit them directly to our KIP printers via the Internet.

Rapid Repro is a small Windows application that is installed and run on the client PC. The user begins by adding HPGL or HPGL/2 plot files to the new job. Several controls are available for specifying printing parameters such as rotation, scale, paper size, pen tables, and so on. After setting the printing parameters for the job the user can view any file in the job to see exactly how the job will print with the integrated viewer. Once the files are in order and all parameters are set, the user will then proceed to send the job. This will launch the electronic order form to collect information about billing, distribution, and any special requirements. The user can also request that this job be saved at our facility for future printing requests. The plot files will then be compressed, added to the job file along with the order form, encrypted for security, and finally sent via your existing internet connection to one of our FTP sites.

The Rapid Repro FTP site is continuously monitored for new jobs by the Rapid Repro Host program. When the job arrives, the job is immediately removed and brought into our internal network for processing. Rapid Repro Host will then notify our production team that your job has arrived. It will also acknowledge receipt of the job to the end user via e-mail. The host program will decrypt, uncompress, and convert your job to our KIP printer format per your specifications. The finished job is then sent directly to one of our printer queues, all without user intervention.
